P2Vest is a financial app that brings borrowers and lenders together to perform mutually beneficial transactions such as accessing credit and lending money. By building a marketplace where costs are low and opportunities are high, the company has been able to transform the way people access credit and lend. They give their users the power to take control of their debt, grow their businesses, and invest for the future. 

Our engagement with this client was in two stages. First, we were in charge of product management, engineering management, and performance testing in the application’s early stages. Afterwards, we offered post-deployment support to boost the app’s performance.

Problem
‍The client wanted to create a p2p lending application with real-time reporting, speedy settlement, and transparency to both Lenders and Borrowers.

Our Approach

‍From the onset, we aligned with the client regarding the product’s goals, features, and desired outcomes. By leveraging our product management expertise, these outcomes were documented and served as a guide for everyone involved in the product development stage. When requirements were aligned, we broke down the product’s functionalities into itemized requirements, allowing for granular tracking and execution. Using this, we were able to understand and cater to all scenarios, including edge cases in the lending and settlement flows unique to peer-to-peer transactions. 

Our Engineering team management skills ensured we provided specifications, guidance, and support to the developers throughout the software development lifecycle. This helped to preempt and resolve blockers encountered while building the mobile and administrative application. As Project Managers, we tracked work progress and managed scope adjustments where needed, and informed our client weekly of the project’s status. From the requirement gathering stage till each milestone release, we applied our Quality Assurance expertise and rigorously tested happy path, failure scenarios and edge cases, ensuring every aspect of the product was optimised for a smooth and efficient user experience. This included user acceptance testing where we worked closely with the client in the pilot testing phase to validate the end-to-end functionality of the peer-to-peer lending platform in real-world conditions.

Result
By working closely with P2Vest’s team, we successfully launched the MVP of a digital peer-to-peer lending mechanism with adequate transparency, tracking, and operational efficiency. Our product management expertise ensured we built the product right the first time, ensuring client intimacy, project tracking and quality assurance at every step.
